PARKING

Parking regulations on College property help ensure the safety of all members of the community. Parking on campus is a privilege, not a right. Parking spots are not guaranteed, even if you have registered your vehicle with Public Safety. Drivers must be aware of road signs (i.e. Stop and Do Not Enter). Parking on grass, gravel, and sidewalks is prohibited. Failure to abide by traffic regulations may result in fines and/or vehicle towing. Failure to pay parking fines will result in an inability to register for classes, obtain your transcript, and/or graduate from Castleton.

Registering Your Vehicle

All students must register their vehicle with Public Safety EACH YEAR. Faculty/staff need only register their vehicle with Public Safety once. Registration is free. Go to Public Safety in person to fill out a registration form. It takes only a few minutes.

Hangtags are available for those who wish to purchase one for $5, instead of the traditional parking decal. You may find a hangtag useful if you have more than one vehicle you might bring to campus on different days, if do you not wish to stick a decal to your window, or a variety of other reasons. Please note that you are responsible for any tickets written on that permit number. If you lose your hangtag permit, please report it to Public Safety as soon as possible. It will be replaced for free. However, you will be responsible for any tickets written on that permit number until you report the hangtag lost or stolen.

Visitors to campus need to register their vehicle with Public Safety. Visitors will be given a temporary permit to place on their dashboard and will be assigned a lot to park in while on campus.
