Castleton falls at Middlebury 11-6

Middlebury, VT-The Castleton State College baseball team dropped a non-conference match-up to Middlebury College 11-6 to even its record at 17-17.

Middlebury put together four-run innings in both the first and eighth to seal the win.

Brad Polcare went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while Kyle Brooks was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored to lead the Spartan.

Marlin Froese hit his first homerun of the season, a two-run shot in the second, after Garrett Bissonnette had doubled to lead off the inning, to cut the lead to 4-3.

Dan Conley had a pair of singles and drove in one to raise his batting average to .402 on the season.

Castleton will wrap up its regular season on Wednesday with a non-conference game at Plattsburgh State. [Box Score]
