Castleton men and women sweep Pilgrim's Pride Invitational

Henniker, NH-In the season opener for both the men's and women's teams Castleton looked strong at the Pilgrim's Pride Invitational hosted by New England College. Both teams won the overall team competitions in the four-school event.

MEN: Castleton took the men's title with a combined score of 29. Mike Campbell was the top Spartan finisher in second place with a time of 30:15 in the 8K. Jeffrey Paul was right behind him in third, running a 30:50.

WOMEN: The Spartans also came up big in the women's competition, besting the four-team field with a score of 36. Katie Snyder finished third, running the 5K in 21:49. Lauren Cosgrove and Sage Small finished sixth and seventh respectively, turning in times of 23:17 and 23:30.

The Spartans host the Castleton invitational on Sunday, September 9. The women's 5K kicks the event off at 11:00 am, followed by the men's 8K at 11:45.
