Castleton competes at Cod Fish Bowl

Darmouth, MA – The Castleton State College cross country team traveled to Boston, Massachusetts to compete in the Cod Fish Bowl at Franklin Park. The men's team finished eighth out of nine teams, while the women wound up 11th out of 13 teams.

WOMEN: Gretchen Chick of the host Greater Boston Track Club breezed through the 5K course in a time of 18:26 to win the race. GBTC also took home the top spot in team results, landing their top-five runners in the 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 slots. Katie Snyder was the top Spartan runner with a time of 21:24, scoring in 35th. Justine Campbell and Lauren Cosgrove finished 62nd and 64th respectively with times of 22:37 and 22:42.

MEN: In the men's 8K, GBTC once again won the overall race, but it was New York Institute's Evan Kigan finishing first with a time of 25:12. Castleton's Nick Grasso finished 31st with a time of 28:44. Jeff Paul ranva 30:15 good enough for 49th place.

The Spartans are back in action on September 29th when they travel to Lyndon State College for the Vermont State Meet. The men's race goes off first at 11:00 am with the women following at 12:00 noon.
