Castleton finishes 4th in men's, 5th in womens at Vermont State meet

Lyndonville, VT – The Castleton State College cross country team competed in the Vermont State Meet, finishing in fourth place in the men's 8K and fifth in the women's 5K.

WOMEN: Lyndon State's Lyndsey Calkins finished first overall with a 20:27. Middlebury College took home the next seven places and won the event handily. Castleton's Katie Snyder was the top Spartan finisher in 17th place, running the 5K in 23:43. Justine Campbell turned in a 24:36 as the Spartans finished fifth out of eight teams.

MEN: In the men's 8K, Stanis Moody-Roberts won the meet with a time of 28:54. The Panthers took home the next eight out of nine spots to earn the win. Castleton's top runner, Nick Grasso, finished 18th with a time of 30:58. Mike Campbell ran the 8K in 31:24, good enough for 20th position. Castleton ended up fourth out of eight teams

The Spartans are back in action on October 6, when they travel to Westfield State to compete in the James Early Invitational. The women's race goes off first at 11:00 am with the men following at 12:00 noon.
