Castleton men and women compete in ECAC Championships

Williamstown, MA–The Castleton State College men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Williamstown, Massachusetts to compete in the ECAC Championships hosted by Williams College. The Spartan men finished 22nd out of 27 competing teams, while the women posted 17th out of 31.

WOMEN: Katie Moravec and Kristen Ballinger finished one-two in the 6,000 meter women's race to lead Amherst to a second-place finish. Host, Williams College won the even with a score of 47. Castleton's top runner was senior, Justine Campbell with a time of 25:03, good enough for 56th place overall. Katie Snyder finished 74th in 25:31, with freshman, Sage Small right behind in 76th in 25:38.

MEN: St. Vincent's Wayne Hooper and Adam Smith finished first and second respectively, but once again it was Williams College taking home the team win with 45 points. Castleton's Nick Grasso ran the 8K in 27:52, good enough for 49th place in the field of 265.

Castleton will travel to Connecticut College in New London, CT to compete in the NCAA Regionals on Saturday, November 10.
