Castleton men and women compete in NCAA Regional

New London, CT–The Castleton State College men's and women's cross country teams traveled to New London, Connecticut to compete in the NCAA New England Regional Championships hosted by Connecticut College. The Spartan men finished 38th out of 47 competing teams, while the women posted 30th out of 47.

WOMEN: Justine Campbell led the Spartan women with a time of 24:05 in the 6,000 meter race. Campbell was followed by Katie Snyder, who finished at 25:05 and Sage Small who came in at 26:08. The three Castleton runners finished 115, 154, and 199 resepctively in the 344 person field. Amherst College took home the team championship, scoring 40 points. Jennifer Adams of Keene State edged Amherst's Heather Wilson for top individual honors, running the 6K in 21:20.

MEN: Jeff Paul led the Castleton men's team with a 27:49, good enough for 158th place out of 330 competitors. Mike Campbell ran the 8k in 28:53, while Nick Grasso finished in 29:58, good enough for 209th and 243rd respectively. Amherst also took home team honors in the men's event by one point 117-118 over rival Williams. Williams College sophomore, Edgar Kosgey won individual honors with a 24:55 (4:59 minute).
