A staple of the Castleton athletics scene until it was dropped in the early 1990's, field hockey was reinstated as a varsity sport in 2003. The distant history includes several NAIA district V titles, while the more recent history is one which shows steady improvement. Since being reinstated the Spartans have appeared in the North Atlantic Conference tournament twice, winning their first ever NAC tournament game in 2005. |
