Jorgensen Nets Career-Point #1,000, Spartans fall 86-67 to Lasell

Newton, MA-Castleton opened their North Atlantic Conference schedule with a tough loss at the hands of Lasell College, 86-67. Senior forward, Jeremy Jorgensen need just eight points entering the contest to tally 1,000 for his career. Jorgensen ended up with a team-high 16 in the loss.

The Spartans trailed 43-42 at halftime, but could not keep up with the Lasers in the second half, as they were outscored 43-25. Leading the Lasers with a game-high 23 points and 17 rebounds was Lasell's Jose Guitian. Jorgensen added nine rebounds to his 16 points to lead Castleton. Joining him in double-figures for the Spartans was Kevin Cayea, who also netted 16 and Joey Farley with 10.

The Spartans fall to 1-5 on the year, 0-1 in the NAC. The team is back in action tomorrow when they travel to Lesley University for a 7:00 conference tilt. [Box Score]
