Husson captures U.S.M. Fall Classic title, Castleton finishes fifth

South Portland, ME-Husson College placed all five of their competitors in the top ten of the U.S.M. Fall Classic and rolled to victory in the two day event. The Eagles totaled 603 for the two days and had just two rounds of 80 or above. Finishing second was Southern Maine with a team total of 630. Castleton finished in fifth place with a 649. After day one the Spartans found themselves tied with Southern Maine in second place, 18 strokes behind Husson's scorching 298.

Bryan Smith (St. Albans, VT/BFA-St. Albans) led the team, shooting 75-79=154, good enough for a fifth place tie in the individual results. Nick Wood (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) had the only other round in the 70's, a day-one 78. He followed that up with a day-two 81 to complete the tournament at 159, in 14th place.

Castleton is back in action on Wednesday, October 4 when they travel to Saratoga National Golf Club for a match beginning at 10:00 AM hosted by Skidmore College. [Complete Results]
