Smith leads Castleton to victory at Waubeeka

Williamstown, MA-The Castleton State College golf team defeated Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and Green Mountain College at Waubeeka Golf Links in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Castleton's 315 bested MCLA's 329 and Green Mountain's 382.

Through the first three matches of 2007 Castleton's average round is 314.33, last season the Spartans averaged 326 over that same span.

Bryan Smith shot a 72 to earn the win, while freshman Sam Morse shot his first collegiate round below 80 with a fourth best 79.

The Spartans travel to Middlebury College this weekend to compete in the Duke Nelson Invitational. [Results]
