Castleton falls at Geneseo State 2-1
Geneseo, NY-The Castleton State College men’s ice hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision at Geneseo State to drop its record to 1-6-1 overall. With the win the Knights improve to 5-8.
The Spartans would fall behind on a short-handed goal by Dan Brown 6:37 into the first half, assisted by Phil Rose. The Knights would get the game winner 6:20 into the second half as Jonathan Dulude notched his first goal of the season off assists from Brown and Rose.
Castleton would cut the lead to one with 11 seconds remaining in the contest as Travis Martell scored his first goal of the season off a Matt Link assist on the power-play.
Jeff Swanson stopped 22 shots in the loss, while Knight goalie, Derek Jokic, stopped 27 in the win.
The Spartans return home to take on Plymouth State University at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 12 in their final game of the first semester. [Box Score]
