Castleton uses second-half surge to defeat Curry 9-5

Milton, MA -The Castleton State College men's lacrosse team shut-out the host Colonels in the second half after falling behind 5-2 early on.

Michael Mamunes was outstanding in goal, stopping 23 shots, including 14 in the second half to earn the win. Matt VanDerKar and Robbie Scanlon each had a pair of goals to lead Castleton. Jake Rick, Steve Gerding, Matt Varney, Adam Rosati and Josh Davis each tallied single goals for the 1-1 Spartans.

Alex McMillan stopped 21 shots and Ryan Rooney provided a pair of goals for the 0-3 Colonels. Castleton is scheduled to play their home opener on Tuesday, March 27 at 3:30 pm versus New England College. [Game Stats]
