Castleton remains perfect in NAC play, defeats Daneil Webester 12-5 on the road

Nashua, NH - The Castleton State College men's lacrosse team remains perfect in the North Atlantic Conference with a 12-5 win over Daniel Webster College.

The Spartans held a slim 6-4 lead at halftime, and used a 6-1 second half to put the game away.

Castleton held a distinct 70-16 edge in shots, and won 18 out of 19 face-offs for the game. Freshman Jake Rick provided seven points for 4-3 (3-0 NAC) Castleton, scoring two goals and passing out five assists.

Robbie Scanlon tallied three goals, while Adam Rosati, Matt VanDerKar and Korey Counos all had two. Steve Gerding scored one goal, which proved to be the game winner, and handed out two assists.

The Eagles fall to 4-3 and suffered their first loss in NAC play, currently sitting at 3-1. Brian Abrahamson led Daniel Webster with two goals, and goalie Adam McKeller stopped 23 shots.

Michael Mamunes earned the win, recording 11 saves through the first 55 minutes of play before beign relieved by David Manghis who did not face a shot.

Castleton is back in action on Saturday, April 14 when they host Becker College at 1:00 pm in North Atlantic Conference play. [Game Stats]
