Castleton blanks St. Joseph's 21-0 for fifth-straight win
Portland, ME-The Castleton State College men's lacrosse team stretched its winning streak to five games with a 21-0 shut-out at St. Joseph's College.
The Spartans raced out to a 14-0 halftime lead and cruised to the 21-0 win. Castleton improves to 8-4 with the win, while St. Joseph's falls to 0-6.
Michael Martinez scored four times to lead Castleton. Tyson Chouinard added three goals and one assist, while Michael DelDotto chipped in two goals and two assists.
Castleton out-shot its hosts 48-10, and 12 different players scored in the balanced attack. Korey Counos scored two goals and had one assist, while Jeremy Peyton and Derek Riley eached scored a pair of goals.
Castleton will put its five-game winning streak on the line Tuesday at 4:00 pm when the Spartans host Lyndon State College. [Box Score]
