Castleton defeats Elms on the road, 1-0 awaits tournament pairing  

Chicopee, MA-Castleton’s Gerrit Marino (Waitsfield, VT) scored the lone goal unassisted to lead the Spartans to a 1-0 conference win over Elms.

Castleton dominated for much of the game out-shooting the Blazers 31-14, while holding an 8-1 edge in corner kicks. With the win Castleton moves into a 3-way tie for fourth place in the conference. The team awaits tournament pairings to see who they will play in the conference quarterfinals.

Mike Anthony (Dartmouth, MA) stopped four shots to earn the shut-out, while Blazer keeper, Phil Joyce (Ashland, NH) stopped 15 shots in the loss. Castleton improves to 8-9-1 (5-4-1 NAC) and will play host ot Skidmore College on Wednesday, October 25 at 2:30 PM in their final regular season game. [Box Score]
