Castleton wins final NAC match of the season, 7-2 at Thomas
Waterville, ME -The Castleton State College men's tennis team took another step in solidifying their second-straight North Atlantic Conference championship on Saturday, defeating Thomas 7-2.
The Spartans will enter the April 21st tournament knowing that they can beat everyone in the league, and if they execute will be able to bring home back-to-back titles.
Jessee Maranda remains red-hot in the #2 singles slot as he has only lost one match all season after defeating David Campbell 6-3, 6-2. Castleton also received singles wins in #3-#6 from Ted Panasci, Jeremy Henderson, Ed Kolnaski and Jamie Cook.
In doubles action, Castleton won the #1 and #3 matches to cruise to the 7-2 victory. Robbie Gray and Dan Hodgetts teamed up to win #1 8-5, while Maranda and Henderson took #3 8-3.
Castleton returns to action on Tuesday the 17th when they travel to RPI for a non-confernce affair. [Results]
