Castleton defeats Becker on the road, 6-3

Paxton, MA -The Castleton State College men's tennis team defeated Becker College 6-3 at the Paxton Sports Centre in Paxton, Massachusetts, improving to 2-0 in North Atlantic Conference play.

After losing #1 and #2 in singles, the Spartans did not drop another set en route to their fifth win in their last six matches. Justin Garritt won #3 singles 6-4, 6-3; Jeremy Henderson #4 singles 6-4, 6-1; Ted Panasci #5 singles 6-1, 7-6; and Jamie Cook won #6 singles 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles action Castleton fell in the #1 slot, but rallied to win both #2 and #3 doubles matches for the 6-3 victory. Garritt and Panasci teamed up for an 8-4 win in #2 doubles, while Cook and Dan Piliero won 8-6 in #3 doubles.

The Spartans play host to Thomas College on Sunday in North Atlantic Conference action beginning at 12:00 pm. [Results]
