Castleton wraps up regular season with 6-3 win over Green Mountain
Castleton, VT-The Castleton State College men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 6-3 non-conference win over Green Mountain College. With the win, Castleton improves to 11-3 on the season, its best mark in the history of the program.
In singles action Castleton took four out of six matches, dropping just #2 and #3 slots. Dan Hodgetts took #1 singles 6-3, 6-4. Jeremy Henderson, Ted Panasci and Dan Piliero won #4-#6 singles in straight sets.
Castleton won #2 and #3 doubles after dropping #1. Panasci and Justin Garritt team for an 8-2 win in #2 while Jamie Cook and Piliero won 8-0 in #3.
The Spartans will travel to Thomas College this coming weekend for the North Atlantic Conference Championships. The two-day, flighted event will feature all five teams in the conference and each player will be individually seeded. Castleton has won three out of the last four NAC titles, including back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007. [Results]
