(April 21, 2008) - The Castleton State College men's ice hockey team officially wrapped up its 2007-08 season at the Palms Restaurant in Rutland, Vermont.
Friends, family, and fans were all in attendance to recap another successful year for the Spartan Men.

The team hosted its first-ever home play-off game and finished 13-11-2 overall (11-6-2 ECAC East).

The Awards from that evening are voted on by the players themselves, and those award winners are:

Legends Restaurant Rookie of the Year = Stuart Stefan
The Palm's Unsung Hero Award = Evan Romeo
Academic Excellence Award = Jeff Alexander
Coaches Award = Matt Link

The final presentation of the night, has the most significance for next season, and that was the naming of the new Captains for the team. Assistant Captains for 2008 -2009 Castleton Men's Hockey Team are: Ryan Bartlett, Brandon Heck, and Evan Romeo. Jared Lavender was named team captain for the upcoming season.
