Evan Romeo Recognized as All-American Athlete

(April 25, 2008) - Colorado Springs, CO - The National Strength Evan Romeoand Conditioning Association (NSCA) recently awarded men's ice hockey player, Evan Romeo (Kanata, Ontario/Smith Falls CJHL) with its annual All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year award--recognizing the student athletes' dedication to strength and conditioning.

This year, the NSCA awarded 239 collegiate athletes from 165 schools with this esteemed award. Romeo was selected by strength coach, Lara Carlson, PhD, CSCS, who said, "Evan is the athlete that every strength coach would drool over. He is an incredibly intense and focused athlete when it comes to his training, and he strives to be the best both on and off ice. In the years I have known Evan, never once has he complained. Evan is one of the hardest working student-athletes at the school, evidenced by his 3.78 GPA and sound athletic performance.

Robert Jursnick, NSCA's Executive Director adds, "The advantages of strength training and conditioning cannot be denied in collegiate athletics. These student-athletes attest to this understanding, and are to be applauded for their hard work and dedication."

The NSCA All-American Athlete of the Year program is in its 29th year, and is made possible by a grant from Power Systems, Inc., a Knoxville, Tennessee fitness product leader.
