(October 7, 2007) - Bryan Smith (St. Albans, VT/BFA-St. Albans) earned medalist honors in the 2007 ECAC Championships at Chicopee Country Club, with a two-round total of 1-under par 141. The Spartans shot team totals of 321 in both rounds, finishing in 11th spot in the 15-team event.

Trinity, which was tied with Nichols for the first round lead of 299, shot 300 en route to a two-day total 599. Nichols was second (607), while UMass-Dartmouth (624), Johnson & Wales (624) and Springfield College (624) all tied for third in the 15-team field.

Smith followed up a first round 2-under 69 with a 1-over 72 on Sunday. Smith finished the championship with seven birdies, one eagle and was second in the 75-player field in par-4 scoring (3.94) and third in both par-3 (3.20) and par-5 (4.75) scoring.

Smith's 141 sets a new Castleton record for scoring in a two-round event. He had previously set the mark this season with a 144 at the Williams Invitational.

Castleton will travel to Booth Bay Country Club in Booth Bay Harbor, Maine for the North Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Maine Maritime Academy on October 13th and 14th.
