(October 9, 2008) - Castleton State College will host the 2008 North Atlantic Conference Golf Championship, Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11 at The Rutland Country Club in Rutland, Vermont.

Husson University is gunning for its third-straight conference title after winning the previous two tournaments at Boothbay Country Club in 2007 and Kebo Valley Golf Club in 2006. Standing in Husson’s way will be 2005 NAC champion, and tournament host, Castleton, University of Maine-Farmington, Green Mountain College, Maine Maritime Academy and Thomas College.

The six teams will compete in the two-day event beginning Friday at 11:00 am. Tee times have been predetermined for Friday’s round. Saturday’s tee times, beginning at 8:00 am, will be announced following Friday’s round.

Date: Friday, October 10 & Saturday, October 11, 2008

Where: Rutland Country Club, Rutland, Vermont

Competing Institutions: Castleton State College (host), University of Maine-Farmington, Green Mountain College, Husson University, Maine Maritime Academy, Thomas College

Format: Five golfers from each institution will compete. The scores of the lowest four individuals on each team, total strokes over the two days, will count toward the team total. The team with the lowest total will be declared the champion.
