(October 27, 2008) - After finishing conference play with a perfect 7-0 mark, Husson has earned the top seed in the upcoming North Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Championship. The Eagles (9-6 overall) earned a first round bye and will host a semifinal contest on Saturday, November 1.

Maine-Farmington will enter the championship as the third seed and host a first round contest on Tuesday, October 28. With a 4-3 conference mark (6-7 overall), the Beavers will face Thomas (7-11 overall, 3-4 NAC) who finished tied for fourth but was seeded sixth. Farmington defeated the Terriers 6-4 in a high scoring affair a week ago in Waterville.

The Farmington/Thomas winner will advance to meet Castleton on Saturday, November 1. Castleton (10-8 overall) finished 6-1 in conference play to earn the second seed and a first round bye.

Fourth seed Lyndon State (9-7 overall, 3-4 NAC) will host fifth seed Johnson State (7-8 overall, 3-4 NAC) on Tuesday. The Hornets defeated the Beavers 1-0 in overtime during regular season play. The winner will travel to Husson for the other semifinal contest on November 1.

The top six teams qualify for the NAC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages. First round games will be played on Tuesday, October 28 at the higher seed unless otherwise noted. Winners will advance to the semifinals held at the higher seed on Saturday, November 1. Semifinal winners will meet Saturday, November 8 at the highest remaining seed. Game times and dates are subject to change. The NAC Champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship.
