Women:

Despite having two of their top three starters faltering in the race, the Castleton State College women's ski team finished in second place out of 12 teams in ECSC Thompson Division giant slalom action. Boston University finished first with a total team time of 274.46, while the Spartans finished at 277.96. Green Mountain College finished third at 285.04, Northeastern University fourth at 287.40 and Yale University, who raced as a guest team in the division, finished fifth at 291.17.

Yale's Alexandra Andrews won the race with a total two-run time of 1:25.33, well ahead of runner up Mollie Zapata of Boston University, who finished in at 1:28.51. Northeastern University's Kristen Bonkowski finished third at 1:31.01.

Castleton's Heather Patterson (Stockton, CA) lead the way for the Spartans with a fifth place finish at 1:32.01. Madalyn Kirbach (Mendon, VT) posted her best result of the young season by finishing eighth with a time of 1:32.77, while Stephanie Kopko (Perkiomenville, PA) completed the Spartans' scoring with a tenth place finish at 1:33.18. Lindsey Wiken (Hampden, ME), Kaileen Balzano (Johnstown, NY), Ellen Noordzy (Exeter, RI) and Angela Russell (Bennington, VT) finished 15th, 17th, 21st and 33rd out of 82 racers.

Men:

The Castleton State College men's ski team posted its first ECSC Thompson Division victory of the season, as they placed seven men in the top-10 in today's race. Castleton's William Colt (Hanover, NH) blazed down the mountain and won both runs to claim the gold at 1:20.28. Colt was followed by Andrew Benson of Tufts University, who finished in the runner-up spot at 1:21.01, while Spartan Greg Towle (Coventry, RI) rounded out the podium in third at 1:22.68.

Corbin Daino (Hagaman, NY) completed the team scoring with a fifth place finish at 1:23.35. Daino was closely followed by teammates Justin Schwartz (Bondville, VT), who finished sixth at 1:23.52, and Robert Moss (Bray, Co Wicklow, Ireland), who finished seventh at 1:23.68. Charles Robbins (Mendon, VT) finished ninth (1:24.29), while Bartholomew Kallgren (Burnham, ME) checked in at tenth (1:24.52) out of 116 competitors.

Castleton's total team time of 246.31 was plenty over second place Tufts University, who finished at 255.14. Third place went to Boston University (258.08), while fourth and fifth went to Green Mountain College (259.51) and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (262.24).
