Women:

 

The Castleton State College women's ski team secured at least a second place finish in the ECSC Thompson Division season standings with today's second place team slalom finish at Killington.  The Spartans finished with a total team time of 335.08, while Boston University captured their seventh straight team win at 326.34.  Northeastern University placed third at 356.51 and Tufts University was fourth at 363.99.  Green Mountain College rounded out the top five with a total time of 368.55.  Castleton was led by sophomore Heather Patterson (Stockton, CA) and freshman Stephanie Kopko (Perkiomenville, PA), who finished fifth and sixth out of 68 racers.  Patterson's time of 1:50.53 just beat out Kopko's 1:50.86.  Kelsey White (Traverse City, MI) placed tenth with a total two-run time of 1:53.69 to complete the team scoring for the Spartans.  Boston University's Mollie Zapata clocked the fastest time of the day with a total time of 1:44.43 for the win.  Zapata's teammate, Teagan Lukacs finished third at 1:48.34, while Marina Vornle of Holy Cross College check in at second with a time of 1:47.33.  Madalyn Kirbach (Mendon, VT) and Lindsey Wiken (Hampden, ME) finished 11th and 13th for the Spartans.

Men:

 

In the men's race, the Spartans won in convincing fashion as their closest competitors, Tufts University, finished 13 seconds behind in second place.  Castleton's total team time was 289.17, as Tufts came through with a time of 302.24.  The team victory clinches the ECSC Thompson Division title for the Spartans in only their first season in the division.  William Richard Colt (Hanover, NH) led the Spartans with his fifth win of the season, as he finished with a total two-run time of 1:33.79 over runner-up Andrew Benson of Tufts, who clocked a time of 1:35.16.  Green Mountain College's Michael Weinberg placed third with a time of 1:36.87.  Castleton's Charles Robbins (Mendon, VT) just missed his earning his fourth consecutive podium appearance as he finished fourth with a time of 1:37.06.  Completing the team scoring for the Spartans was Gregory Towle (Coventry, RI) who clocked the third-fastest second run to move from 12th after the first run to sixth place overall on the day with a time of 1:38.32.  Close behind Towle, was freshman Corbin Daino (Hagaman, NY), who finished seventh at 1:38.51.  Another freshman, Robert Moss (Bray, Co Wicklow, Ireland) started towards the end of the pack in the first run and placed ninth at 1:39.88 for his best slalom result of the season.  Justin Garritt (Swan Lake, NY), also began the race late in the start order, but still managed a 16th place result.  Boston University finished third in the team standings with a time of 312.10, while Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Northeastern University placed fourth and fifth with times of 313.65 and 318.45.
