Castleton Falls in First Round of ECAC Championship, 58-42 to Endicott

Medford, MA -Castleton was held to just 26% shooting by a stifling Endicott defense, and the Spartans could not overcome an early 13-point deficit to the host Gulls.

Endicott jumped out to an early 18-5 lead before Castleton would battle back and cut the lead to five with just over two minutes to play in the first half. Endicott would close out the half with a pair of buckets to stretch their lead to 30-21 at the break.

Castleton's shooting woes continued in the second half as the Gulls were able to increase their lead to 15. Endicott's Cecily Chisholm scored 11 points and hauled in 11 boards to lead the 19-9 Gulls to the semifinals of the tournament. Nicole Duchesne scored a game-high 12 points for Endicott. Jenn Goff tallied 10 points and eight rebounds, while Jess Banks chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds as Castleton ends their season at 19-9.

The number three seed, Endicott will head to Worcester on Friday night in search of a bench mark 20th win. The Gulls will take on second seeded WPI, tip-off is slated for 7:00 pm. [Box Score]
