Castleton wins third straight, defeats Lasell 66-61 in NAC action.

Castleton, VT- The Castleton State College women’s basketball team won for the third straight game, defeating NAC foe, Lasell College 66-61. Jenn Goff led the 11-6 (8-3 NAC) Spartans with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Goff scored 12 of her 18 in the first half, and helped Castleton to a 34-25 halftime advantage.

Lasell’s Courtney Casserly struck for a game-high 20 points in a losing effort. Christina DeLuca chipped in 15 for the 8-8 (6-4 NAC) Lasers.

Castleton stretched their lead out to 15 at one point in the second half, but the Lasers would not go away quietly as they cut the deficit to just two points late in the game. Castleton would make their free-throws down the stretch and come away with the victory.

Mary Nienow add ed 15 points off the bench for Castleton and Carley Amedore followed her up with 10. The Spartans are back in action next Friday when they travel to Elms College for a North Atlantic Conference game at 8:00 PM. Lasell will play Tuesday, when they host Elms at 6:00. [Box Score]
