Spartans defeat Lesley 77-59 to extend lead in Western Division

Castleton, VT-Castleton completed a weekend sweep with a victory over Lesley University 77-59 Saturday at Glenbrook Gymnasium. The victory marked the fifth consecutive at home and seventh out of the last eight for the Spartans.

The Spartans had five players score double-digits, led by Mary Nienow who came off the bench to score 20 points. Jess Banks had 16, LeeAnne Ketchen chipped in 15 points, Jenn Goff contributed 12, and Carley Amedore scored 12 to go along with 13 rebounds for the double-double. Kelley Harrington led the Lynx with 19 points in the losing effort.

The Spartans move to 15-7 and 12-4 in NAC play and are currently leading the Western Division. Castleton travels to play Green Mountain in a non-conference game Tuesday for a 5:30 pm tip. Lesley falls to 6-17 and 3-14 in the NAC. The Lynx host Elms College on Tuesday night at 8:30 pm for a conference game. [Box Score]
