Mariners end Castleton's season in NAC Semifinal 53-38

Farmington, ME -Julia Knights scored a game-high 17 points and NAC Player of the Year Alyssa Burns added 13 as the second-seeded Maine Maritime women’s basketball team (25-2) defeated No. 3 Castleton State, 53-38, tonight in semifinal action of the 2007 NAC Women’s Basketball Championship. 

Alyssa Burns (10 first-half points) led the Mariners in the opening half, knocking down 4-of-6 shots from the floor and grabbing six rebounds as the Mariners went into the break leading 31-14 as Castleton shot just 20.7%. 

Michelle Gott-Stillwell added 11 points and 15 rebounds for the Mariners, while Jenn Goff and LeeAnne Ketchen led Castleton with 11 apiece.

Ina re-match of last season's final, Maine Maritime will square off versus host, Me.-Farmington at 2:00 PM. [Box Score]
