Castleton wins consolation game 63-50 over Russell Sage

Plattsburgh, NY-The Spartans salvaged a weekend split by defeating Russell Sage 63-50 in the consolation game of the Cardinal Classic. Castleton placed four players in double figures to earn the win.

Leading the Spartans with 12 points and 10 rebounds was freshman Laura Cary. Jenn Whiting earned all-tournament honors, completing the weekend with a 12 point, six rebound performance. LeeAnne Ketchen also contributed 12 points, while Jessica Banks added 10 points eight rebounds and five assists.

Ashley Wetherell scored 15 points and hauled in seven rebounds to lead the Gators.

Castleton improves to 1-1 whiel Russell Sage falls to 0-2. The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday, November 21 when they play host to Plymouth State Univeristy at 5:30 PM. [Box Score]
