Castleton snaps skid, defeats Bay Path 50-17 on the road

Holyoke, MA-The Castleton State College women’s basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 50-17 win over Bay Path College. With the win the Spartans improve to 2-5 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The Spartans jumped out to a 31-8 halftime lead, before coasting to the finish line in their first conference game of the season. Freshman, Kristie Dunchus led a balanced attack with her first collegiate double-double, scoring 10 points and hauling in 12 rebounds. Erinn O'Rourke added 10 as well, while Laura Cary added six points and 10 rebounds

Chrissy Ordyna tallied 11 points in the loss as Bay Path falls to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Castleton will return to action on Tuesday, December 11 as they host College of St. Joseph (Vt.) at 7:00 pm. It will be the Spartans’ home-opener after starting the season with seven consecutive road contests. [Box Score]
