Castleton's win-streak snapped, 58-46 at Husson
Bangor, ME-The Castleton State College women's basketball team lost for the first time in its last nine games, 58-46 at Husson College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action.
Mary Nienow scored a game-high 23 points to keep Castleton close, but was the only Saprtan in double-figures. Nienow was 6 for 9 from beyond the three-point stripe and also hauled in six rebounds. Jessica Banks scored seven points and handed out seven assists as Castleton falls to 14-7 overall and 10-2 in conference play
Husson's Jenny Rollins paced the 12-9 (8-2 NAC) Eagles with 17 points and five rebounds, while Shelby Bradford notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Of Bradford's 12 rebounds, eight were on the offensive glass as the Eagles tallied 17 second-chance points on 17 offensive rebounds as a team. Husson also held a distinct advantage from the free-throw line, cannin 16-24, compared to just 5-9 from Castleton.
The Spartans will play the remained of their regular-season schedule at home, beginning Friday, February 15 at 6:00 pm when they play host to Elms College. [Box Score]
