Castleton opens season with 11-10 NEWLA victory at Emerson

Boston, MA-The Castleton State College women's lacrosse team opened their season with a thrilling 11-10 win over NEWLA foe, Emerson College.

Aimee Goulette scored what would prove to be the game winner with 1:16 left in the second half to break a 9-9 tie. Castleton would tack on an insurance goal, and would end up needing it as Emerson scored with eight seconds remaining to tighten the score back up. Goulette ended the day with a pair of goals.

Nicole Bouchard tallied three goals and one assist, while Nicole Adams added two goals and two assists. Katelyn Greene also had three goals on the day, while Katherine Cournoyer rounded out the scoring with a single mark.

Castleton is back in action next Saturday, March 31, when they travel to defending NEWLA champion, Western New Engladn for a 1:00 pm game. [Game Stats]
