Adams scores four, Castleton rolls over Westfield State 14-8

Westfield, MA -The Castleton State College women's lacrosse team received four goals and one assist from freshman, Nicole Adams and defeated Westfield State 14-8 in non-conference action.

The Spartans held a 6-3 advantage at halftime, before scoring eight goals in the second half to cruise to their third victory of the season.

Castleton received two goals each from Katherine Cournoyer, Alex Felck and Erin Barry. Nicole Bouchard added one goal and three assists, while DeeDee Schroeder, Aimee Goulette and Stephanie Pearce each scored one goal.

The Owls were led by Ally Brown with three goals, and goalie Missy MacNeil stopped 11 shots in the loss.

Meredith Pope and Francesca Mazzola combined to stop ten shots in the win.

Westfield State falls to 1-2 in their inagural season. Castleton is back in action on April 14 when they travel to Lasell College for a 3:00 pm NEWLA contest. [Game Stats]
