Castleton wins third-straight, 15-8 over Westfield State

Westfield, MA-Nicole Adams scored fourd goals and handed out two assists as Castleton State College defeated Westfield State 15-8 in New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) action.

With the win the Spartans improve to 4-2 (2-1 NEWLA).

Castleton clung to a 7-5 halftime lead, as Adams and Stephanie Pearce each scored two goals in the opening 30 minutes for the Spartans. Pearce finished with three goals and two assists as the Spartans pulled away in the second half.

Marie VanDerKar and Katelyn Greene each scored two goals in the win. Meredith Pope stopped eight shots to earn the victory in goal.

Castleton returns to NEWLA action Sunday afternoon at Elms College. [Game Stats]
