Castleton wins 3-2 over Becker

Leicester, MA-Carisa Chadburn (North Clarendon, VT) scored the game winner on a penalty kick in the 81st minute to help the Spartans escape with a 3-2 conference win.

The Spartans dominated for much of the game, holding a 26-4 edge in shots, but found themselves tied heading into the 81st minute when Chadburn stepped up and planted the game winner in the net. Stefanie Reuter (Manchester, CT) scored her first goal of the season early on to give Castleton a 1-0 edge, assisted by Brean Farquharson (Westmoreland, NH). Less than three minutes later Ashley DiFigueiredo scored the first of her two afternoon goals to tie the game. Sarah Reaber-Spina (Starksboro, VT) put Castleton ahead once again, off from a Tracy Stala (Nanuet, NY) assist. Once again DiFigueiredo answered to tie the game at two before halftime.

Kim Allen (Newtown, CT) stopped three shots in the win as Castleton improved to 9-7-2 (7-3-1 NAC). Julie Arroyo made 10 saves for the Hawks who fell to 3-12-2 (1-8-2 NAC). [Box Score]
