Castleton rolls over Lesley 5-0 in North Atlantic Conference win

Castleton, VT –Tracy Stala (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) scored a pair of goals and had one assist to lead Castleton to a 5-0 North Atlantic Conference victory over Lesley University.

Carisa Chadburn (North Clarendon, VT/Mill River Union) scored her first career goal on a penalty kick to open the scoring in the 12th minute of play. in the 29th minute Stala would score her 11th goal of the year off from a Chadburn corner kick to give the Spartans a 2-0 cushion. Less than one minute later Brean Farquharson (Westmoreland, NH/Keene) put home her fourth goal of the season, assisted by Stala. In the second half it was more Castleton as Stala scored in the 65th minute assisted by Heather Slater (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley). Erin Hanlon (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hossick Falls) rounded out the scoring on a break away with 1:20 remaining in the game.

Sarah Wedge (Londonderry, NH) stopped 15 shots for the 2-7-2 (0-6-1 NAC) Lynx. Micole Bellimer (Hartland, VT/Windsor) stopped all six shots that came her way for her second consecutive shut-out. With the win the Spartans improve to 7-5-2 (5-2-1 NAC). Castleton has the week off and is back in action on Saturday, October 14 when they travel to Lasell College for a 1:00 PM NAC show-down.
