Castleton stays perfect in the NAC with 4-0 win over Wheelock

Boston, MA – Freshman, Sarah Reber-Spina (starksboro, VT/Mt. Abraham Union) tallied a hat-trick and Kim Allen (Newtown, CT/Newtown) recorded her first shut-out of the season to lead teh Spartans to the 4-0 conference win.

Samantha Waters (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake) tallied the game winner early in the first half off from a Stefanie Reuter (Manchester, CT/Manchester) assist. Reaber-Spina would tally her first goal of the game before halftime off another assist from Reuter. Reaber-Spina scored a pair of goals in the second half with assists coming from Tracy Stala (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) and Brean Farquharson (Westmoreland, NH/Keene) to seal the win.

Allen stopped three shots to earn the shut-out victory. Wheelock's Alyce Jordan (Weymouth, MA) recorded 13 saves in the loss. Castleton improves to 3-2-1 (3-0 NAC) while Wheelock falls to 1-3 (0-3 NAC). The Spartans are back in action Wednesday, September 20 when they play host to Mass.-Liberal Arts at 4:00 PM. Wheelock is off until Next Saturday, September 23 when they travel to conference foe, Mount Ida for a 1:00 PM game. [Box Score]
