Castleton drops 1-0 contest at Plymouth State, Bellimer stops 17

Plymouth, NH - Castleton goal keeper, Micole Bellimer stopped a career-high 17 shots, but it was not enough as the Spartans fell 1-0 at Plymouth State.

The Panthers broke through in the 69th minute when sophomore, Lauren Lavery lofted a shot from just outside the box and the ball slipped past the outstretched Bellimer into the right corner of the goal.  It was Lavery’s second goal of the season.

PSU senior Ashley Riberdy stopped both shots she faced to record her first shutout of the season and fifth of her career.

The Panthers, 5-6 overall, return to Little East Conference action Saturday with a visit to Rhode Island College for a 12:00 pm contest.  The Spartans, 8-6, return home to host Becker on Saturday in a North Atlantic Conference match-up beginning at 1:00 pm. [Box Score]
