Becker College defeats Castleton State College 3-0

Castleton, VT-In the second match of the day for both teams, Becker seemed fresher, and defeated Castleton in three straight games after the Spartans battled Elms College in a grueling four game match earlier in the afternoon. Becker had already defeated Lyndon State College earlier in three straight games as well.

Rachel Pinak ( Buffalo, NY/Maryvale) led the Hawks with 18 kills and 12 digs. Setter, Amber Ramey ( Newport, RI/ Middletown) had 26 assists and seven digs. Castleton was led by Jamie Lemieux ( Fort Edward, NY/Argyle Central) with seven kills and four blocks (three solo). Samantha Grisso ( Dartmouth, MA/ Dartmouth) had nine assists and four aces.

With the loss Castleton falls to 5-3 (0-2 NAC), while the win improves the Hawks’ record to 3-4 (1-0 NAC). The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday, September 19 when they travel to Lyndon State College for a 7:00 PM match. Becker travels to Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Thursday, September 21 at 7:00 PM. [Box Score]
