Castleton wins opening match of Norwich Classic 3-2 over St. Joseph (Vt.)

Northfield, VT-Castleton opened up the Norwich Classic with a hard-fought 3-2 win over College of St. Joseph. The Spartans took the first game 30-24, lost the second game 30-15, won the third 30-24, lost the fourth 23-13, and won the final game 15-10.

Leading the Spartan attack was freshman Samantha Grisso (Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth) with an all-around effort. Grisso tallied five kills and zero errors while assisting on nine others. She was also tough on serve with six aces. Freshman Jamie Lemiux (Fort Edward, NY/Argyle Central) also had a big match with 14 kills and seven blocks.

With the win Castleton improves to 3-0. [Box Score]
