Castleton falls to College of St. Joseph (Vt.) 3-2

Castleton, VT-Castleton lost a five game match for the first time all year, as the College of St. Joseph (Vt.) came out with a purpose in the final game. Castleton won the first game easily 30-14, only to drop the second 30-22. After that the next three games were an all out battle in front of raucous crowd. The Spartans won game three 30-28, while the Saints eeked out a 31-29 win in game four setting up the deciding game. CSJ came out strong building a a 9-3 lead early, the Spartans would claw their way back, only to see their chances slip away as they lost 15-10.

Jamie Lemieux (Fort Edward, NY/Argyle Central) led the way with five kills and six blocks (five solo). Samanth Grisso (Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth) contributed eight assists.

Castleton falls to 7-5 on the season and will travel to University of Maine-Farmington on Saturday September 30 for matches versus Farmington and Thomas beginning at 10:00 AM. [Box Score]
