Castleton gets back on track with 3-2 win over Lyndon St.

Lyndonville, VT-After a long trip to the Northeast Kingdom, the Spartans shook the rust off and won a back-and-forth five game match versus Lyndon State College. The Hornets took the opening game 31-29, Castleton battled back with 30-21 win in game two. Lyndon won game three 30-24, but the Spartans took the final two games by scores of 30-17 and 15-10 to earn the win. Castleton is now 3-0 in matches that go five games.

Jamie Lemieux (Fort Edward, NY/Argyle Central) led the attack with 25 kills and six aces. Samantha Grisso (Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth) racked up 31 assists, eight kills and seven aces to aid in the victory.

With the win Castleton improves to 5-3, while Lyndon is still searching for their first victory at 0-8. The Spartans are back in action on Saturday, September 23 when they travel to Longmeadow, Massachusetts to take on NAC foes Bay Path College at 11:00 AM and Lesley University at 1:00 PM. [Box Score]
