The student-run radio, WIUV (91.3 FM), is an important part of campus life. WIUV serves both the College and the local community, broadcasting varied programs of music, news, sports, and weather, as well as airing public service and education spots.

The constantly expanding music library contains a large assortment of music, rock, hip-hop, jazz, classical and much more. Emphasis is placed on students' ability to run all the aspects of the station. Membership is open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the local community. Some students studying communication may use the station as a laboratory experience.

The Spartan is Castleton's student newspaper. Journalism students, as well as those interested in gaining experience in all aspects of newspaper production, are involved in photography, layout, typesetting, advertising, and staff management. Video Magazine is produced biweekly by students in television production classes.

The first issue of the Vermont Literary Review was published in 1994. The review is published once a year featuring poetry, fiction, drama, and personal essays from and about New England.

Students and professors review the work submitted, select work to be published and then edit and design the review. The editors invite creative work from and about New England. Poetry, fiction, drama, and personal essays should not exceed 4,000 words. Photographs and drawings should be black and white.

All submissions must be postmarked between August 31 and January 31. Include SASE for response. Written work will not be mailed back. The payment for publication is two contributor's copies. Address all correspondence to:
