B.S. in Communication, Digital Media Concentration

The digital media program helps students prepare for the ever-changing world of converging media by developing skills in video, web design, multi-media and graphic design, as well as providing a theoretical background in the way society adapts to changes in its communication media.

All Communication majors must complete:
COM 1040 Media Writing
COM 1220 Introduction to Communication
COM 1211 Television Workshop I
Either COM 244 Race and Gender in Media or COM 286 Mass Media in Society
3 literature credits

In their senior year one of the following:
* COM 4850 Senior Project COM 4710 Seminar in Communication
* COM 4810 Communication Internship

In addition, concentrators in digital media must fulfill the following requirements:
COM 2220 Web Page and Site Development
COM 3120 Multimedia
COM 4010 The Future of Communication
and two of the following:
ART 2010 Graphic DesignI
COM 2221 Computer Graphic Design
ART 3130 Web Graphics
BUS 3130 Desktop Publishing

All Communication majors must then take 15 additional credits from any Communication classes and complete an 18 or more credit minor or related concentration.
