Communication Facilities

The Communication Program takes advantage of several facilities on the Castleton campus.

Students in video classes work in Castleton's fully equipped television facility with three camera studio, DV and DVCAM camcorders and tape decks, Sound Tools audio station with 32 track mixer, four G4 and G5 Final Cut Pro edit bays and a PC compression suite. Other computers run Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and After Effects.

Photojournalism students work in a G5 digital darkroom with slide and still scanners and large format photo printer.

Two 20 station computer labs and the Academic Computing Center in Castleton's state of the art Stafford Academic Building house Macintosh G4/G5 and Pentium IV computers running Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver and Fireworks MX, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Quark XPress, Microsoft Frontpage and 3D Studio Max.

The Communication lounge/computer lab inclues the"digital darkroom" and a Final Cut Express DV/VHS edit system.
