This 46 minute documentary
first aired on Vermont ETV in 1977 but remains of current interest. It depicts
the fascinating array of evidence that suggests to some that New England was
frequently visited by pre-Columbian Europeans and the controversy that rages
still in academic circles over the truth and importance of these speculations.

George Seldes, the muckraking journalist who recently died at the age of 104,
tells the story of his experiences in early Soviet Russia, fascist Italy, Spain
during its Civil War, and the United States as its first true critic of the
press., and his encounters with the likes of Trotsky, Lenin, Mussolini and the
American "press barons."
