 Facilities

All of our meeting and seminar rooms are comfortable and designed for learning. Some are air-conditioned. In addition to a variety of meeting rooms and lecture halls, Castleton offers the following:

  • A 500 seat Fine Arts Center auditorium
  • Art, music and dance studios
  • A 175 seat auditorium
  • Handicap accessibility
  • A 84 seat lecture hall with a data/video projector, VCR/DVD/laser disk players, documents camera, and a satellite c-Band
  • Computer laboratories offering both Macintosh and MS-DOS
  • Soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, baseball, softball fields, and tennis courts
  • Two gymnasiums
  • Indoor, heated pool
  • Calvin Coolidge Library

 Lodging

Summer visitors have two options for lodging: the traditional corridor-style hall and the suite-style halls which consists of four bedrooms with a living room and bath. Each hall is equipped with a kitchen, lounge, laundry, and vending machines. One of the residence halls is handicapped accessible and two are partially accessible. Up to 600 people can be accommodated in our residence halls.

 

 Food Service

You can expect high quality food professionally presented. From a barbecue by the pond to a formal dinner in the Old Chapel, you can choose from a variety of options to meet your specific needs and budget:

  • Through-the-line meals with unlimited seconds including vegetarian entrees and a well stocked soup and salad bar
  • Coffee and refreshment breaks
  • Box lunches
  • Receptions, banquets, buffets, and barbecues

 

 Recreation

Unwind after the day's activities or perform your daily workout in our sports complex. Recreational opportunities include:

  • Two gymnasiums
  • 25-yard indoor, heated pool

  • Indoor and outdoor basketball and volleyball courts
  • Lighted outdoor tennis courts

 College Services

Extra services can make an everyday event into a special experience. Here is what you can take advantage of:

  • College store with books, magazines, newspapers, personal items, office supplies and clothing
  • Campus public safety officers on duty 24 hours per day
  • Post office located on the campus
  • Free, well-lit, ample parking

 Nearby Towns and Attractions

The town of Castleton is a beautiful setting for an event or a conference. The College is nestled in the small village, with its broad main street and houses from the early 1800's. Summer visitors can sail, canoe, swim, hike, horseback ride, or golf within minutes of the campus. The following are within an easy drive:

  • Lake Bomoseen and Lake St. Catherine
  • Killington and Pico ski resorts with gondola rides, alpine slide and mountain biking
  • Golf courses
  • Historic sites, state parks, and Vermont attractions
