Morton Gold received the Bachelors of Music degree from Boston University in Theory, the Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Harvard University, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Composition from Boston University.

He was a full Professor of Music from 1964 through 1982 at Nasson College, and has since taught at York Community College, University of Southern Maine, St. Francis College, Oakland Community College, and the College of St. Joseph.

Best known as a composer, his music has been performed across the United States as well as abroad, including performances at the World Exposition in Montreal, the American Embassy in Paris, in Guatamala, at Carnegie Hall, and on PBS with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Dr. Gold now teaches advanced music theory for Castleton’s Music department.
